How it works

Posted by .

This site is the resource for
. Growers of Scottish produce.
. Restaurants and other eating establishments using Scottish grown produce.
. Enterprises using Scottish grown produce in their products or services.
. Events that have Scottish produce on sale.
. Local grown produce.

It is searchable so whatever you are looking for should be easy to find.

As a consumer you should be able to find the grower in your locality that grows the product you want or that elusive plant you want to find, organic or not, and where to buy it.

Grown in Scotland Label

The Grown in Scotland label is an important contribution to this website.
Visually the label immediately connects the consumer to the local area in which the grower is situated.
If the consumer then wishes to find any further information then the information from the label entered into the Grown in Scotland webpage search connects the searcher with the members personal page.

The most exciting development in the label however is in the addition of a QR Code.

This will, with the aid of a smart phone, enable the customer to actually connect with the member’s page on the website.

Together the label and website as a package directly connect the consumer with the member.
This, to our knowledge, has never been done before in such a comprehensive way.

Restaurants and other eating establishments using Scotland grown produce

The Places to eat section includes restaurants using local produce.

Besides other acreditations such as True Taste awards we have devised a carrot award for this site. (1 carrot means they try to source as much locally as possible 5 means that it is 100% local).

This gives an indication as to the cooks’ use of local produce and possibly the quality of the food.

Enterprises using Scottish grown produce in their products or services

This includes any Enterprise such as jam and chutney makers, bakers, green grocers, herbs used in medicine etc and even wood workers who use English grown trees in their creations.

Look for the Grown in Scotland with the QR label to see where and who grew the product.

Growers of Scotland produce

This site gives Growers a market place for their produce on the internet; it also gives them an advertising label as well as an individual direct connection with the purchaser by the QR code on the label.
Therefore a customer can access any information about products and growers
